Check out CSEA EBF’s new mobile app The CSEA Employee Benefit Fund (EBF) recently announced that a new mobile web app feature is now available. This new benefit tool can be accessed by using your mobile phone to visit our website at www.cseaebf.com. The EBF understands that you lead a busy life and are constantly on the go. This mobile app makes all of the EBF information you need readily available. For example, you can use the app to obtain your EBF ID number, search for participating providers, or use the Live Chat feature to ask a question about your benefits. While not all the information on the EBF’s website can be obtained via the mobile link, the tool provides the most commonly requested information for CSEA members who are enrolled in our programs. The EBF has experienced a huge increase in the number of visitors to its website in recent years. Much of that growth is attributed to the use of tablets and mobile devices. The new mobile web app was developed with direct input from CSEA members and was tailored to address specific issues and benefit needs. CSEA President Danny Donohue, who also serves as EBF’s chairman, said that “the EBF Board of Trustees are constantly looking at ways to better serve our members and continually strive to improve our benefit services.” In order to better meet the demands of changing times, the EBF is embracing technology to explore ways to better serve our members. Thinking about retiring? Join a CSEA Retiree Local! Are you thinking about retiring? CSEA locals may pay the first year of CSEA Retiree dues, which are only $24. Our efforts through the years have protected public pensions and Social Security against assaults by shortsighted politicians who want to dismantle the system that protects your standard of living. These days, you can’t take anything for granted. You need your union to protect what you have and likewise, we need you to maintain strength in numbers. Dues are only $2 per month and can be deducted directly from your pension check. Here is what you get in return: • Representation at the federal, state and local government levels to protect your interests; • Membership in a CSEA Retiree Local, as well as AFSCME Retiree Local 1000; • Local retiree meetings to socialize and get updates on retirement benefits; • Subscriptions to informative publications, including the CSEA Retiree News; and • Member-only benefits that can save you money on many consumer needs. Call your county’s Retiree local president listed at left or visit www. cseany.org and select “Retiree Members” from the “For Members” menu. May 2014 The Work Force 17
