Norwood member saves with solar CSEA member Katherine Oakes and her husband, Bob, have experienced some good savings after installing a solar system on their garage in Norwood. Their system covers all of their annual electricity usage by transforming energy from the sun into electricity for use in their home. “I am very excited to use solar energy to power my home,” said Katherine Oakes. “It was an affordable option for my family and American Solar Partners helped us out every step of the way.” Currently, there are many state and federal programs that allow residents to own a solar system with no money out-of-pocket while saving thousands of dollars, but some of those programs may be ending soon. “It’s a great deal but it will not last forever. The incentives are very good but they will decrease sometime in 2015 so now really is the time to act,” said Lee Smith of American Solar Partners. In addition, members who take advantage of the Solar Member Benefit find that their homes are worth more with a solar system installed. “Utility bills are a challenge for our members,” said CSEA President Danny Donohue. “This new benefit is a practical way for them to cut costs, while adding to the value of their home.” Many members also appreciate the fact that American Solar Partners uses only American-made products and union installation. With multiple short and long term benefits, it is no wonder that the Solar Program is rapidly becoming a popular benefit. To find out how much you can save through a free solar assessment, contact American Solar Partners at 914-699-3366 or info@americansolarpartners.com. 18 The Work Force April 2015
